MACHU PICCHU HIKE will take us on a hike around the majestic snow of APU — AUSANGATE TREAK (6384 meters above sea level) the highest cordillera of Vilcanota, its is magnificent and demanding,  as it is one of the most important Apus of the Incas. This hike will take us in between 4000 to 52000 meters above sea level. This snowy mountain is now visited by millions of tourists, it is located in a place with an spectacular and diverse landscape, giving birth to its geography, erosion, its snowy peaks (Mariposa, Callangate, Colquecruz, Campa, etc) its typical altitude flora and fauna, just like quaint customs of the andean peruvian villager will be appreciated and enjoyed, in the artisanal capital of Peru in textiles and typical dances of the Ausangate valley.

DAY 1: CUSCO – OCONGATE – TINKI (3950 meters above sea level)

Our company, Machu Picchu Hike will come pick you up at 8:00 am to then head out to our hiking meeting point. On our way we will pass through typical colourful villages of the highest lands; Once we get to the town of Urcos you will have an amazing panoramic view, where you will be able to appreciate the whole cordillera of the Vilcanota River.  Then we will get to the town of Tinki that is 3850 meters above sea level, from where we will start our hike. This day we will be doing a short hike so we can get used to the climate. We will stay at a nice little town over night.

DAY 2: UPIS – PACCHANTA  – AUSANGATE (4450 meters above sea level)

After breakfast, we will continue our hike until we get to the opening of Q’ampa, where we will have the opportunity to the aprrecite the snowy peaks pf the Apu Ausangate, having a view to the whole valley. After our visit here is done, our hike continues until we get to the town of Pacchanta, where on the way you will be able to see the amazing scenery full of colourful lagoons, which the guide will be explaining along the way the reason for it, we will also see some rare andean birds flying around. This area is known as the natural reserve of huallatas, vizcachas and other wildlife animals in this place. After the hike we will get to our camping site to enjoy the hot springs that are around.


After breakfast we will walk for approximately 3 hours through the typical andean landscape, to then arrive at the village of Tinqui, where we will hop on our transport that will take us back to the city of Cusco.
