The city of Cusco is considered one of the most important cities in Peru, because of the great Inca Empire and all the great structures they erected, making it a most seen tourist destination. Our ancestors leaved us with magnificent edifications like their beautiful palaces, colorful clothes, great walls, marvelous churches built on top of Incan foundations and the Incan Roads, which still hold their magical sceneries. They also gave us great festivities like the Inti Raymi, the Moray Raymi, and much more.

Machu Picchu Hike will be waiting for you to arrive to the imperial city of Cusco to take you to the hostel of your choice. The hostel will welcome you with a Peruvian typical beverage (mate de coca) and you will have the morning to acclimatize. We will then pick up your party at hostel at 13:00 P.M. so we can begin our excursion with the Machu Picchu Backpacker package, where we will start the city tour or the combination excursion in the city and its surroundings, this tour will begin with a guided visit to different places like:

QURIKANCHA’S TEMPLO OR THE SANTO DOMINGO CONVENT: This place was a ceremonial religious place also known as the “Temple of the Sun”, it is an example of the great pre-Columbian engineering that was used for construction and architecture.
THE CATHEDRAL: Inside this building we will contemplate cuzqueñan paintings like cloth linens, gold decorations, colonial walls, and more.
SAKSAYWAMAN: This archeological site is located 3 Km. from the imperial city of Cusco, the meaning of its name, Saksaywaman, is satisfied hawk. It was an incredible fortress made with huge stones and excellent architecture. Saksaywaman is also famous for its gigantic worked stones, some of them are 30 feet high and they weight more than a ton.
QENQO: The translation of the word Qenqo means labyrinth. Qenqo was a ceremonial place, and it is said that it was an amphitheater where animal sacrifices were made (the black llama).

OLLANTAYTAMBO: It was a center for agriculture, administration, social, religious and military gatherings in the time of the Tahuantinsuyo. It is conformed by temples and platforms, and it is united by a complete system of irrigation. Here, the Spanish conquistadors lost a battle to the Incan empire. Ollantaytambo was a great fortress that also served as a temple.
