First Day: Moray – Maras – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.
At a time, yet to be determined, but sometime in the morning, we will head out to the town of Cruzpata, place where we will be arriving after an hour road trip and where we will start or hike to the andean areas of Urubamba; during our first hour hike we will see the circular and concentric andenes used for agricultural experimentation in Inca time called Moray, place we will explore. Subsequently we will continue our hike to the town of Maras, where we will take a small break to have our lunch and refresh ourselves, we then continue to the salt mines of Maras, where we will be able to appreciate that even today the salt is operated under a crystallization process opencast in beautiful and colorful plots the same style as in ancient times; then we will continue by going in a downward direction in the town of Pichingoto, where we will find some caves carved into the same rocks preserved by locals as a part of their history; finally we will cross the river by a colourful bridge that will guide us to the town of Yanahuara, where our transport will pick us up to head to Ollantaytambo, place where we will board our train to Aguas Calientes, where we will be spending the night.
Second Day: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco.
After breakfast, we will start our hike to the historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu and we will explore with the guide tour all the archeological site in between 2 and a half hours to 3 hours; We will be able to visit: The Main Plaza (la plaza principal), the Intihuatana, El cuarto de los morteros, The tire windowed temple (El templo de las tres ventanas), The condor’s temple (El templo del cóndor) and many more of Mchus Picchu’s important sites. After we will have enough free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own, we recommend hiking Waynapicchu, the mountain you can see behind every typical Machu Picchu Picture out there, you can hike this at early times in the morning where you will be able to hike the basic route or the expense one where you can appreciate some other Inca constructions like the Moon Temple; You can also hike up to the Sun temple that has a gateway to the Inca Trail. After we go down to the town of Aaguas Calientes, where we will have our lunch and after according to our program we will head back to Ollantaytambo by train where our bus will be waiting for us to head back to Cusco. And with that we finalize our Tour Maras Moray Machu Picchu.
