1. Arrival in Cusco 2 days prior to departure: Your arrival to Cusco should be at least 2 days prior to departure as you have to pay the balance before emigrating at 06:00 p.m. two days before starting the trek. Upon reaching two days before the trek also ensure that you are better acclimated to the altitude. However it is rather recommended 3 days.

If you really cannot get two days before starting the journey, we have to get an email from you to coordinate:

-Event 01: If you plan to arrive a day before the hike, we will meet each other at the airport of Cusco or in our main office, you will not be asked to pay the trek balance and will get the walking route.

-Event 02: If you are arriving on the morning departure, we will meet you at the airport in Cusco, we will have enough time to prepare for the hike, offer you information session of the hike and transportation in van at the beginning of the walk, 82. kms (In 2008, we had over 15 such experiences due to flight cancellations, strickers, etc).

*So you do not realize that we are willing to help you and join your walking group and if you get lost !! Just coordinate with us and keep in touch before arrival to Cusco.

2. A free airport shuttle to the hotel is available for groups of 01 person or more (people). Obviously, if you want a bus shuttle from the airport to the hotel, you will be asked details of your flight arrival: Airline, flight number, the estimated arrival time and date. (at least 7 days in advance to be confirmed).

3. Discounts for students: If you are claiming a student discount, you will have to send us an 'JPEG' analysis of your ISIC card by email within 03 days in order we accept your booking. Only one valid ISIC card is acceptable. If you can not provide an analysis of your ISIC card within three days, then we will accept your booking but you will be charged the normal price for adults hike. We cannot get the discount on a date. After all, there is no age limit for students.

You must bring the ISIC card to the office when you will pay the trek balance and take it with you in the Inca Trail, as it will be checked repeatedly by government officials. Unfortunately, there are no other forms of identity for the student which are acceptable (university cards, international youth cards, for teachers, cards etc). If you forget your ISIC card or lose it, then there is a risk that you will not be allowed to start the

Inca Trail. Many students have been rejected at the beginning of the walk this year for not having a valid ISIC card. (Note: It is a rule of thumb according to the booking rules at the "Inca Trail 2009").

4. Discounts for children: Children under 16 (years old) receive a US $45-discount. If you are claiming a child discount, so you should send a scan of your child's passport (containing photo page and date of birth) by email within 3 days so that we can accept your booking. If you cannot provide a scan of the passport of your child within three days, thus we will accept your booking but you will be charged the normal price for "Adult Walk" for your child. (Note: It is a rule of thumb according to the booking rules at the "Inca Trail 2009").

5. Children under 8 years receive a US $ 45-discount, if you are claiming a discount for children, so you should send us a scan of the passport of your children (page with photo and date of birth), by email within 3 days so that we accept your booking. If you cannot provide a scan of your child's passport within 3 days after what, we will accept your booking but you will be charged the standard price of "Child's Hike" for your children. (Note: It is a rule of thumb according to the booking rules at the "Inca Trail 2009").

SAE members: a $20-discount per person, will be off the time of final balance payment (please show your SAE membership card to our office team once you are in Cusco and you will get discount).

6. If you have a hotel reservation in Cusco, please include the name of your hotel in the booking form. This allows us to detect whether there is a problem regarding your arrival. You will also be asked to confirm your hotel's booking in Cusco when you come to the office to pay the trek balance.

Any change to the original booking must be confirmed in writing an email. Any costs or charges incurred or to be incurred or required by our service providers as a result of the modification will be charged to the passenger. Although reasonable effort will be made to accommodate changes and additional requests, availability cannot be guaranteed.

If you must cancel, please note our policy in this respect:

* Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel.

* If you get sick while you are in Cusco and feel you cannot walk, but you still want to go to Machu Picchu - we will change your programme into a travel package 2D / 1N train, but please note that we have to use the same accurate dates to use (one of) your entries to Machu Picchu, train tickets, hotel, etc. If you need to change dates then we will require more funds to make the appropriate changes to your itinerary.

In the case that part of the reservation is canceled, the remaining passenger may have to pay additional charges (single environment supplements for ex. or under occupation).

* A Tour cancellation of one week from the departure date would incur a loss of 100% of total tour cost.

* If you need documentation for insurance purposes "Quechua's Expeditions" Operator will be happy to help you.

While we will endeavour to operate all quoted tours may be necessary or advisable to vary or modify an itinerary or its contents due to the prevailing local conditions.

We reserve the right at any time to cancel or change any of the facilities, services or prices (including flights, accommodation or other arrangements) and substitute alternative arrangements of comparable value without compensation and accepts no responsibility for loss of enjoyment, as result of these changes.

If a major change is known, our passengers will be told at the time of booking.

If a major change becomes necessary after booking, we will inform our passengers as soon as reasonably possible.

"Quechua's Expeditions" Operator reserves the right to increase the tour fee to take into account the following elements: government action, currency fluctuations, transportation costs (including fuel costs), increases in food, airport taxes and increase the scheduled air fares or any other increase that is beyond our control.

"Quechua's Expeditions" Operator shall not be liable for any charges in case of change beyond your control to the departure time or date of a tour form, flight or other means of transport.

It is the responsibility of the passenger in possession of a valid passport, visa permits, proof of immunizations and preventive medications necessary for the duration of the trip. The information on these topics or related items is given in good faith but without responsibility on the part of ourselves.

All passengers are expected before booking (their trip) to ensure they are fit and able to complete the itinerary of their choice. People over 60 (years old) as age are advised to get medical evidence of fitness to travel on the chosen route. Anyone suffering from a disease or disability or undergoing treatment for any physical or medical condition must declare the true nature of a such condition at the time of booking and make arrangements for the supply of any medications and / or other treatments that can be required during the tour. If such disclosure is not made, thus we will constitute a breach of these booking conditions and result in such person that has been excluded from the tour, in which case all the money paid shall be lost.

It is highly recommended to use a travel/health insurance plan. We do not provide or include an accident or travel insurance policy at our expense. However, if a member of the group gets sick or incapacitated, we take care of him or her by getting a qualified doctor or immediate medical attention. In these cases, additional costs are taken by the individual client, including hospitalization if necessary. In case of accident/emergency evacuation necessary, all costs are assumed by the individual customer.

"Quechua's Expeditions" Tour Operator is not responsible for force majeure - this is war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activities or natural disaster, fire or adverse of weather conditions, technical or maintenance problems with transport, changes imposed by cancellation or rescheduling of flights from the airline, altering the type of airline or aircraft, or other similar events beyond the control of ourselves.

All participants in tours operated by Machu Picchu Hike Tour Operator are expected to obey the laws and regulations of the visited countries and the failure to do so will relieve Machu Picchu Hike Tour Operator of all obligations that otherwise may have under these booking conditions.

Please note we are not in control of all campsites which are issued with the Institute of National Culture. Overall, camping allocation depends on how early you book, or rather, how many licenses remain. The first 250 spaces are usually given to Wiñaywayna (3rd camping) and then take a longer walk to Machu Picchu on the last day and you could say they don't make it for the sunrise. Let us not disappoint by this, as Machu Picchu is a wonder itself!

*Campsites are subject to change according to our guide's criteria and the group's progress.

The acceptance of the terms and conditions

By participating in the walk (#) the client accepts the terms and conditions set forth above. The clauses relating to the cancellation of the walk will take effect immediately after the walk purchase.

Staying healthy while traveling.

1. Machu Picchu Hike recommends having at least two days prior to any of our trips to acclimatize. Cusco is 3,300 meters above sea level.

2. Make sure you are fit and healthy before starting the hike. Take at least two days in Cusco (altitude or similar) to acclimatize yourself to the altitude. Although many people make the journey and do not expect it would be easy. Anyone with breathing problems should not make this trek.

3. Walk at your own pace. Even though you are part of a group that everyone will not walk together in a group. People walk at a different rhythm to maintain speed that suits. The group returns together near the ruins or any other interesting place in order the guide explains everything. Do not try to overexert. If your heart is beating quickly in your chest, stop a while and have some rest and wait for it gets calmer.

4. Liquid drinks in abundance along the way. We will provide you with teas, teas and coffees at meals, but you will need to drink much more fluid, in addition to these drinks. Bringing a bottle of water of at least 1 liter per person.

5. Do not get sunburned. The sun on high is particularly strong. Walking in shorts and T-shirts is fine, but putting a lot of high protection factors and always wear a hat.

6. When the sun goes down, the temperature drops quickly and it is easy to get a chill. Use winter clothes.

Return Train Tickets: The return train is the train leaving the expedition, either at 02:55, 04:20, 04:42 or 06:45 p.m. The reserved train depends on availability and is confirmed in a press conference. There is an option to upgrade on the train for the "Vistadome Train" that's a US$ 60-extra per person. Please let us know what your preference at the time of booking is. None of the trains go directly to Cusco, Ollantaytambo only runs either or Poroy but in any case we will transfer you by private bus back to your hotel.

And if you stay an extra night in "Aguas Calientes" we gonna buy train tickets for the next day at the same time.

Food in our Treks (You will never be hungry with us): definitely one of the highlights of the tour is food. It is always fresh and the largest part is organic. There is always plenty to eat and plenty of options including vegetables, meat, chicken, fish and other types of proteins and carbohydrates. Everyone feels to eat together and go out of our way to accommodate all dietary requirements including vegetarian options and any food allergies. We do not offer any alcoholic beverage during the walk, but if you want, you can bring your own. (More to taste the roasted guinea pig, it is free).

Our camping equipment: We offer tents - three men for only 2 people and pneumatic (Therm-a-rest) mattresses for everyone (Because we want to sleep comfortably). Our team room includes a dining tent, tables and portable chairs, dishes and utensils. We do not supply sleeping bags or sticks, but all can be rented by Machu Picchu Hike. We have some extra polar fleece for sleeping for all our walkers especially for those cold nights. You just have to do it and we will provide you one.

Note that if you have more than 1.95 meter / 6'4 "tall, then you will not be able to rent a sleeping bag in Cusco. In this case it is recommended to bring your own.

Our guides, chefs and porters: They are all amazing, friendly, helpful and great people to be with. Our guides speak English well and are patient and very informative. Our chefs offer you an amazing meal family style service, our porters and everyone is impressed with what they can whip up in the middle of the mountains. Your porters carry everything for you to make your trip as easy and comfortable as possible thanks to them you will end your trip and have a good time. Our porters are called "Quechua Chaskis" on the Inca Trail. And never overload them as travel agencies share the service and provide extra kilos that are made by shippers without additional cost.

We ensure that all our equipment is well maintained and we provide all the equipment you need so they can make the trip in comfort as much as possible.

Gym during the Treks: The Inca Trail is definitely not easy but it is not necessary to be an athlete or trekking expert to complete it. Fitness is important, but of course the Inca Trail is the kind of walk that anyone with a positive attitude and determination can do. Obviously, the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the track, the more you can enjoy the scenery and appreciate the Inca ruins located along the way. If you do not exercise regularly, it is advisable to make a few extra walks or some type of aerobic activity in the months prior to your trip.

Many people worry whether they will be able to cope physically but complete failure is rare and usually are only results in severe altitude sickness or a person who lacks... even a basic level of fitness. People of all ages (from teenagers to retirees) can complete the trek and age itself is not a barrier, if you have a positive mindset and live an active lifestyle. Before leaving for your trip, we recommend you to visit your doctor, who could provide more information.

Storage during the Trek: During the Inca Trail Trek your main luggage will be stored in Cusco and if you have an extra portability service, you will receive a small duffel bag during the conference of Inca Trail (information sessions are normally set at night, before starting the trek) to pack clothes for 3-4 days. Your team of porters carry these bags with food and equipment on the road. Note that you will not have access to these items until the end of each day, as the gatekeepers will always be ahead of the group, so you should bring a backpack which can carry belongings.

• We can only confirm the booking after receiving a non-refundable of US$ 200 for any "Inca Trail" and US$ 100 for any alternative Treks and 30% of our Peru-packages and other services (payment method: Western Union and Bank Transfer), keep in mind that the deposit programme is not refundable. The deposit is used to purchase the ticket to Machu Picchu and also to book the train tickets and hotels. And once you buy a space, it cannot be resold. And if you want an extra-porter, please send us a 50% too.

The final balance must be paid two days before starting the trek/tour (and must be in cash in dollars or soles), otherwise the tour is canceled unless you send us an email saying that you will delay.

• If you want to make a quick booking, please send us all your personal information such as full name, passport number, nationality, gender, age, and a hike deposit rate (Use more quickly and safely "Western Union" in Peru).

• Machu Picchu Hike does not give any refund if a participant decides to cancel the trip before departure or during the trip (except for tickets to archaeological sites and bus/train tickets).

• If Machu Picchu Hike does not confirm the booking, payment will be fully refunded.

• All participants must bring their own bags, including sleeping bag and mattresses unless they booked us an extra porter or the service includes porters, horses or mules.

• A participant must declare whether he/she has any disease or medical condition and should take his/her own medicines.

• All participants must bring their original passport and, in their case(s) where appropriate, their "ISIC" Green Original Student Card.

• It is mandatory that all clients have personal travel insurance. This insurance must cover personal accidents, medical expenses, loss of effects and all other expenses that may arise as a result of the loss, damage or injury that occurs on the client. Machu Picchu Hike cannot explain itself for any accident or loss of personal belongings of the customer caused by his/herself.

• In case of force majeure, as the inability to operate the program or excursion due to unusual or unforeseen circumstances beyond Machu Picchu Hike Control 'as extreme weather conditions, landslides, strikes do not allow the functioning or endangerment, the sudden inaccessibility of the route, etc. Machu Picchu Hike propose viable solutions to operate through the program within available dates, or if impossible, will then propose an alternative programme. If the alternative program chosen by the client is of lower value than the original one booked, then the client is entitled to a refund of the price difference. All costs are at the expense of the customer. In case none of them would be feasible, Machu Picchu Hike will refund all money paid except all expenses incurred at that moment.

I declare to accept the terms and conditions stated by "Machu Picchu Hike".
